Liz, walk the streets of Dublin (or any other city in the country) any night of the week – preferably during the early hours and count the number of people huddled in doorways, under thin blankets or torn cardboard boxes and explain to them the great work your carried out as Minister of State responsible for housing. Well meaning rhetoric doesn’t put roofs over people’s heads – it just gets people elected as public representatives.
