… what you maybe meant to keep…

1997 Leaflet from Jackie Healy-Rae “Its time South Kerry had a voice to be heard in Dail Eireann” June 11, 2012

From the 1997 General Election a leaflet from Independent Fianna Fail candidate Jackie Healy-Rae a Farmer, Publican and holder of 3 county championship hurling medals.
In this 1997 General Election, after failing to get a Fianna Fail nomination, despite many years of service to the party, Healy-Rae ran as an Independent and caused a shock as he was elected polling 7,220 votes. He subsequently was one of the four Independents that supported the 1997 to 2002 Fianna Fail government.
